Marketing Management 2011
Ladies and gentlemen,
the 12th year of congress Marketing Management is successfully over. We saw some great and less great presentations and speakers, re-charged our internal “batteries” and now it is time to get back to our everyday jobs.
We can take lots of thoughts, ideas and inspirations from the conference. These are described in the detailed press release. However, the major learnings can be summarized in few sentences:
Even though it may seem the information clutter and explosion of new instruments have completely changed the view on marketing, the truth is completely different. The mission of marketers is still the same – to find the right target group and offer what is considered as valuable. To do it properly, not only good consumer and market data are necessary, but mainly a lot of courage and fair work. Fidelity, quality and long-term values are starting to gain their meaning again.
Emotions were what resonated most in both discussion halls during the whole day . A human being is merely unable to make a shopping decision without emotions. Are we able to offer a strong story? Will we help people to find passionate relationship to what we are selling ? Does our brand have a deeper meaning for them? How to prove it with the best intention to attract customers´ emotions towards Burger King was perfectly presented by David Kisilevsky, who was deservedly evaluated the best speaker of the conference. Whether we are able to create an emotional relationship to our brand – each of us must find the answer oneself. And we should also think about provoking statement of the conference presuming the accelerated accent on discounting might mean marketing in our company is headed by the sales manager.
We thank to all congress participants for creating a good atmosphere. Those of you who want to stay in touch with us and with other participants and join discussion on marketing inspiration and possible concept of this event next year are invited to LinkedIn group Marketing Management Congress.
